Baby Bell's First Picture

That is what I did yesterday! I had my first ultrasound and it was probably one of the neatest experiences I have ever had. I was a little nervous at first that something would be wrong, but everything is going along smoothly. She/he is measuring 9 weeks instead of 10 like we thought I was. So, I am now due November 4th, but we all know the likelyhood of that happening. But, I got to see the baby move a bit and hear the heartbeat (167 bpm, pretty darn good!. You can't tell that much from the picture, she/he def looks like a blob. (The little circle is the yolk sac.) On the screen I could see the little arm and leg buds and the brain. Very very exciting. It feels a lot more real now, and it is even nicer to know that everything is ok and moving along well.

But, no new knitting news. I did get the Yarn Harlot's new book this week as well as the Mason-Dixon Knitting book. They are both pretty great. I haven't got too much of a chance to read them yet, but I'm looking forward to it. I'm hoping to get some baby knitting done this weekend.

Have a wonderful Saturday everyone! It is beautiful here and I'm hoping it will warm up enough today to go swim in our pool.

Ahhhhhhh, that is so sweet of you to share this moment with us. What! You have a pool? Ohhh you don't know how bad, how long we have been wanting a built-in swimming pool. You have got to take photos out there. You have got it all girl!

Fun! I always loved catching that first glimpse when I was preggers. In fact the Princess has an alternate nickname (Red Bean) that she earned during the first u/s -- nothing creative, she was just the size of a red bean. And the baby hat is adorable. Enjoy all this Gracie!

Aw! Isn't the U/S the greatest invention? Thanks to it, we can see our little peanuts at almost the very beginning, which helps it all sink in. (And of course, I'm thankful to U/S technology because I knew beforehand that both of my little boogers were breech, so I didn't have to labor unnecessarily with either. What a relief!)

Have a great day swimming!

How exciting!! My brother said that they were told if the baby's heartbeat is high (numberwise) then it is usually a boy. However, this was also when they were further along, probably even when his g/f was hooked up to the monitor during labor. I'm not sure what constitutes a high heart beat or not...not sure how accurate that is, but they had a boy (he's now nearly 3) and the heart beat had been in the high range...

Oh, I am so excited for you! I remember our first baby...she's turning 8 April 15th! The time will fly, Gracie! Enjoy it. Every moment.

I love your background, but then I think I've told you that before in a past comment.

Have I also told you that I love your name because hubby and I decided that if we had another little girl, we'd name her "Gracie Rose". I dreamed it. I mean I had a dream where I was holding a baby girl, I felt like she was my baby, and her name was Gracie Rose. After I woke up, still marveling at the dream (the prospect of another baby), I started thinking "Gracie" was odd (it seemed more like a nickname rather than a first name) and so maybe I'd name her "Grace Rose". But no, in my dream it was specifically GracIE Rose. So Gracie Rose she will be when she finds the time to arrive. ;-)

Thank you for visiting my blog. Let me know if you ever do that "Knecklace". :)

Gracie, I dreamed I was pregnant last night--it was SO vivid--and I had the prettiest little bitty bump. I think I was around 2-3 months along in the dream. Anyway, in the dream I just KNEW it would be a girl and her name would be Grace. No question. You must be a good influence because it seems that a lot of women want to name their daughters after you!
